3/1/2024 0 Comments Aural training piano![]() ![]() For musicians, this means learning music theory. The third step is to learn to read and write. In his view, it is the foundation of musicianship: 'Audiation is to music what thought is to speech.' ![]() Gordon calls this ability to hear music in our head 'audiation'. Like the kids using the sounds and words they’ve heard around them, we musicians should try to reproduce the music we’ve been listening to. Step two is the musical equivalent of listening and speaking: listening to music, hearing it in your mind and then getting the sound you hear ‘internally’ out of your instrument. In fact, you’ve listened to thousands of hours of music. The reason you started to play an instrument, was because you heard a bunch of music and you liked it. Gordon and musicians like Victor Wooten, it makes a lot of sense to learn music in a similar way. Then when they do learn grammar, they discover that there are certain rules that they’ve been using unconsciously for years.Īccording to Edwin E. They might not know what verbs, adjectives and prepositions are, but they know how to use them nearly flawlessly. Their English is close to 99% perfect without consciously knowing anything about grammar. What’s remarkable about this is that children learn language and first learn how to speak without any idea of the underlying grammar. Summing up, we can roughly define three stages: Only when kids have reached that level, we teach them the alphabet, grammar and how to read and write. As babies grow into kids, they learn how to speak and are able to have conversations about things like their favourite color or how their day was. Next, they start engaging in ‘speech babble’ as they try to reproduce the sounds they’ve heard. How exactly does ear training change your experience of music? To answer this, we need to take a look at the three core abilities that ear training helps you develop.įor the first six months of their lives, babies listen to the people around them. I don’t like keeping things wishy-washy, so let’s take a closer look at what this means. Speaking more generally, we can say this:Įar training will change, improve and enrich your entire experience of playing and listening to music. These are just a couple of examples of course. So instead of making a crappy recording of it by awkwardly humming it into your phone, you quickly jot down your musical idea, knowing that you can now return to it whenever you feel like it. You know you’ll forget if you wait until you get home. You’re on the bus or train, away from your instrument, and a beautiful melody or kick-ass riff occurs to you. This is especially great when you want to learn music by some obscure band, a solo from a live recording or part of a movie or video game soundtrack, for which there isn’t any notation available. Instead of having to look up sheet music or guitar TAB, you can simply sit down with your instrument and figure out how to play that music. You want to learn some of your favourite music. ![]() A guitar melody pops into your head that would fit perfectly with it, so you jump right in and play it. You’re rehearsing with your band when one of your friends starts playing a riff or chord progression you really like. Here are some situations where ear training will help you: ![]()

![]() The task of cutting them up and programming them so that their envelopes and volumes work together is hard and time consuming enough. Back some years ago when Kontakt-2 first came out, several freinds and I recorded an orchestra library and one of our articulations was true legato with the strings using intervals. My hats off to you, creating true legato is no simple task. Heh, you might have cheated a little bit where you had a bad sample or two but for the most part it appears chromatic. If I'm not mistaken Alex, you did record these chromatically. So you can imagine what a full version will be like, where we sample transitions chromatically instead of by minor 3rds! Not to mention that instead of steamrolling through the intervals, we will be much more picky about performance/intonation. Get in touch if you have specific questions and THANKS!! Hope this helps, and we'll poke our heads in to make sure we're supporting the Reaper community. Eventually, when we're bigger with more $$ to spend, we'll consider making more instruments for that format. Our "FULL" version will give users more control over dry/wet. ![]() We didn't delete the legato element to our sustain patches, so that users can go back to legato mode on the GUI if they want to. And as you can see, it was a success! We are continuing work to develop Intimate Strings "FULL". This patch was just created as a test to see if we could achieve a string quartet legato instrument. We put the convo verb on under the hood because we felt it put the perfect amount of room in there. We just discovered this post and wanted to introduce ourselves. That also brings the patches down to 1.88meg but you have to save the patches under a different name and reload them to see the difference. > A work-a-round to bring the Sordino and Sustain patches down to 1.88meg and still retain the Mod(CC1) filter affect is to select just the Legato groups and delete all their sample Zones leaving the groups in tact. Maybe they're using an AET filter which is a great method for doing this but it's certainly not visible. Also there's no visible filter or EQ that is being manipulated although they do have a couple of EQs on them. However I'm not sure how they achieve the timbre change because there's only one sample per note so they're not crossfadeing between sample layers. > Velocity has no affect but it instead uses Mod(CC1) for volume and timbre. Of course I also had to delete the scripts which take away the Mod(CC1) control. I deleted all the groups in the Sustain patch except the Sustain group and it came down to 1.88meg of memory. They all use 30.59meg of memory in DFD mode which is totally unnecessary. > They have all three patches loaded with all the same samples even though the Sordino and the Sustain patches don't use the legato samples at all. > They use the same script for all three patches which is a little strange. ![]() I don't have a clue how to use it though. Without some documentation it's hard to know what it does but I'm thinking it might be helpful for setting up the legato patch for different BPM speeds. The Extended configuration has some user settings that I think may be primarily for the legato patch. > The script has two parts Extended configuration and Performance. I've seen no mention of what this instrument is but by the range I'm guessing cello. Today I used my keyboard and indeed it does work quite well. When I quickly checked the legato patch out yesterday, I was just using the Kontakt keyboard so of course the legato patch didn't work (I wasn't thinking at the time ). Got a chance to finally check these out a little closer. Has anyone got them figured out yet? I only checked the Legato nki but couldn't get it to work properly. ![]() 3/1/2024 0 Comments Rfactor 2 reiza track pack![]() Alternatively, should you not wish to try and set a time during the qualification sessions, you can simply turn up on race day – however be aware, this will mean you are put into the lowest split of the competition.įormula Series | Official Forum Post: CLICK HERE.
