![]() The task of cutting them up and programming them so that their envelopes and volumes work together is hard and time consuming enough. Back some years ago when Kontakt-2 first came out, several freinds and I recorded an orchestra library and one of our articulations was true legato with the strings using intervals. My hats off to you, creating true legato is no simple task. Heh, you might have cheated a little bit where you had a bad sample or two but for the most part it appears chromatic. If I'm not mistaken Alex, you did record these chromatically. So you can imagine what a full version will be like, where we sample transitions chromatically instead of by minor 3rds! Not to mention that instead of steamrolling through the intervals, we will be much more picky about performance/intonation. Get in touch if you have specific questions and THANKS!! Hope this helps, and we'll poke our heads in to make sure we're supporting the Reaper community. Eventually, when we're bigger with more $$ to spend, we'll consider making more instruments for that format. This patch is just a - We're glad you like our stuff, and so sorry to hear that you have to run them in demo mode within kontakt player! We would love to make our stuff available in kontakt player, but the licensing and workflow makes it much more challenging and expensive. ![]() Also, as you discovered, velocity doesn't matter in this patch, it's all about the CC#1 to control swells and - you're free to go under the hood and turn off the verb! Our "FULL" version will give users more control over dry/wet. ![]() We didn't delete the legato element to our sustain patches, so that users can go back to legato mode on the GUI if they want to. And as you can see, it was a success! We are continuing work to develop Intimate Strings "FULL". This patch was just created as a test to see if we could achieve a string quartet legato instrument. We put the convo verb on under the hood because we felt it put the perfect amount of room in there. We're so glad you guys have grabbed our Intimate Strings Tod - Thanks for uncovering that incorrect bit of info - we have changed the website to reflect the proper sample/bit rate - 48/16. ![]() We're Alex and Jon, co-founders of Embertone. We just discovered this post and wanted to introduce ourselves. That also brings the patches down to 1.88meg but you have to save the patches under a different name and reload them to see the difference. > A work-a-round to bring the Sordino and Sustain patches down to 1.88meg and still retain the Mod(CC1) filter affect is to select just the Legato groups and delete all their sample Zones leaving the groups in tact. Maybe they're using an AET filter which is a great method for doing this but it's certainly not visible. Also there's no visible filter or EQ that is being manipulated although they do have a couple of EQs on them. However I'm not sure how they achieve the timbre change because there's only one sample per note so they're not crossfadeing between sample layers. > Velocity has no affect but it instead uses Mod(CC1) for volume and timbre. Of course I also had to delete the scripts which take away the Mod(CC1) control. I deleted all the groups in the Sustain patch except the Sustain group and it came down to 1.88meg of memory. They all use 30.59meg of memory in DFD mode which is totally unnecessary. > They have all three patches loaded with all the same samples even though the Sordino and the Sustain patches don't use the legato samples at all. > They use the same script for all three patches which is a little strange. ![]() I don't have a clue how to use it though. Without some documentation it's hard to know what it does but I'm thinking it might be helpful for setting up the legato patch for different BPM speeds. The Extended configuration has some user settings that I think may be primarily for the legato patch. > The script has two parts Extended configuration and Performance. I've seen no mention of what this instrument is but by the range I'm guessing cello. Today I used my keyboard and indeed it does work quite well. When I quickly checked the legato patch out yesterday, I was just using the Kontakt keyboard so of course the legato patch didn't work (I wasn't thinking at the time ). Got a chance to finally check these out a little closer. Has anyone got them figured out yet? I only checked the Legato nki but couldn't get it to work properly. ![]()
